The real problem is that, the sliding friction Twilight was experiencing was tangential to the radial direction, Twilight had no centripetal force to keep her moving in a helical path. She would fly out at once.

^That doesn´t make sense given how we see that their hooves bend and wobble and all that. We see a little bump when Twi clops her hooves together for example.
So horseshoes wearing all the time but not showing doesnt make sense.

@BP1 There are also significant arguements floating around that ponies wear traditional horseshoes (namely from some of the sounds when they clap their hooves together). It’s just that said horseshoes are not shown in favor of maintaining the signature art style.
