Considering the adventures Daring Do is having, that’s actually pretty likely.

Bottom Line: Equestria is a crapsack world, and Ponyville’s redeeming feature is that the residents do manage to pull together and survive. Recommendation enough for me.

Outside of Equestria is even worse! Changelings swarms consume entire regions, mad gods sends their emissaries to destroy the ecosystem (with only a single Pegasus to fend them off), Griffons have a nasty perception of outsiders and will most likely shoot first and ask later, Dragons roam freely and will massacre entire towns for daring to get close to their loot or blacken the skies in a way that nothing could ever live there, and monkeys will likely steal your wallet.
 
And that’s just the neighbor nations!

Ponyville must have a pretty good insurance plan to go through all of that crap and destruction.

Alternately: this kind of shit constantly happens EVERYWHERE, and we only see the bit that goes on in this one town because that’s where the main characters happen to be.

I actually think that Ponyville is the ONLY small town in existence, and there’s only like a dozen settlements total. That’s why they do thing like calling a big city an Empire. And of course everything happens there because, well, what other choice is there?

This is exactly what I was thinking while watching the stream. Oh, and the people who solve all of these also live here.

Well, it would be kind of hard to sell your town on the merits of “We all have shitty luck.”

The Parasprite one wasn’t just in Ponyville, rememeber the ball of them they rolled out of town, he hit another town, it only started in Ponyville.
