Sweet game, but, I wanna know, how do you reach the fight with the true final boss, the giant monstrous spider behind the spider princess?

Yeah, I realized that a bit after I posted the question. Saw the guide someone posted up here with screencaps from the game.

Have to say, I really like the design of the game. Can’t wait to see what the big project with Colgate, Lyra and Twinkleshine is going to be like.

@Marcusmaximus Thanks for the help. I was able to get to the shrine with a Timberwolf. I’m now at 12 socks, and it’s obvious that you need to get the last three by getting the royal guard to go away from Trixie’s balloon, but I have no idea how to get him to go away. Anybody know of a way to get rid of the guy?

Sorry about that, but I love your games way too much to NOT try and find every little detail I can find.

Seriously, the Pony Platforming Project series are my favorite games ever released by the brony community, bar none. (I think Canterlot Siege and its sequel are the only games that even come close) They’re just so beautifully put together and each time I see a new one released I squee with joy and know exactly what I’m gonna be doing the next couple of days. I just really wanted you to know that; keep up the great work, and good luck with the rest of MFA2.

…How would you make the shrine gap with giant lizards, if you can do it with any creature? (I always use the cockatrice, mainly for the control. I die a few times before I can pull it off, but still)

It’s an easter egg, and it was a very last-minute thing. About an hour before I uploaded the game, Karen and I were testing it to make sure it was playable all the way through - and she suddenly called me saying “I’m standing inside the wall”.

So I checked it out, and sure enough, I’d forgot to make part of the wall solid, so you could totally jump up and walk around inside it.

The SENSIBLE thing to do would have been to just fix the code so you couldn’t jump inside the wall, but I’ve never been that sensible. So instead I hastily drew in a secret passage and that very short scene.

Aside from the obvious Castlevania reference, it’s actually a callback to a running joke in Minty Fresh Adventure 2 … which isn’t out yet. I didn’t think anyone would find it this fast. :)

@TricornKing
You can do it with any creature, but it was specifically designed with the little lizards in mind. There’s one just upstairs from that point, and the cockatrices are spaced at the perfect distance for its running jump.

Doing it with a cockatrice can cause problems just because your jump is too high - if you go too far up, the cockatrices you’re trying to jump on may disappear. (Because they’re respawning enemies, they’re programmed to vanish if they’re offscreen for more than two seconds, in order to conserve memory.)

Hope that helps!

Is there a particular animal that you need in order to get to the shrine? I keep trying to jump on the flying cockatrices while having my own cockatrice, but once I hit the first one and then jump, the game keeps Minty in the “falling with style” mode even when she hits the other cockatrices after the first one.

So, what is the deal with the “Wall Meat” anyway? I accidentally found it while jumping about through the cave after I got all the cutie marks, and I can’t figure out what it’s supposed to be for! Is it just an easter egg or what?
Marcusmaximus

@patec
Haha, sorry for the confusion. I figured most people would see that ending first, so I held the second boss back as a surprise for people’s later playthroughs.

As for the time cutie mark: You need to finish the game in under five minutes.

Easiest way to do it is to begin a new game, jump on the first two owlbears, feed a timberwolf, and then just charge right through the cave via the high road. (And, y’know, try not to die.)

ALright, found the 1st ending now. Was kinda surprised that I didn’t have to fight the second boss and clicked a bit too fast.

But how god damn fast you you have to be to get the time cutie mark? I was sure i had that in the bag with my second run, but nope :(

The game works quite well.
But you should balance the difficulty a little more.
For example, when Minty starts she has nothing, while timberwolves make it quite hard to get through the level unharmed - which is fine, but then you can get the cockatrice and everything becomes suddenly quite easy.
Well, it’s a game that lasts 15 minutes after all. But if you intend to make it longer (please do!) you should consider it.

Keep it up, especially with the art which is adorable as always :)

@patec
Hey, glad to hear you’re enjoying it!
There are 15 socks total. Congratulations, you caught ‘em all. :)
The socks are also the only thing that affects which ending you get:
0-5 socks: Ending 1
5-11 socks: Ending 2
12 or more: Ending 3

So if you already got ending #3, you’ll have to use “new game” to start over and collect less socks. (Don’t worry, you will keep all your cutie marks … but not the overpowered whistle. ;)

I hope that’s helpful.

Very nice game.
But I have a few things to mention.
  1. It needs a way to tell me how many socks there are. Or at least some message when I collected all of them. I have || fifteen || now and I can’t find any more. But maybe they’re just extremely well hidden?

  2. I also found some hidden items.
    The meat does absolutley nothing I suppose?
    And the whistle is OP. Because everytime you use it you automatically gain full health.
