Rule 34 ? And what about grimdark? If anything hurts fandom is this coz it’s actually refferenced constantly by everyone and not only fans.  
And I really can’t see how we’re going downhill if the show is only 2 years old. Looks like hiatus is being too long and we have a large group of apocalptic bronies.

As for everyone else this is my take.
 
Since my time in the fandom first began in February 2011 has the fandom gone downhill? Yes but not to the degree certain people on a social blog networking site think. Every big fandom goes through this decay and it unfortunately has seem to hit the pony fandom at an accelerated rate.
 
However I still think that if certain people stopped so ludicrously all around the place then things could get back to the way they were back in 2011. If people could control themselves a bit more and think before they spoke I don’t think you get some of unnecessary strife that has developed over the past year. Even then we’re all people.
 
Many need to remember that this is a cartoon that they love passionately and just that cartoon not life.
 
I don’t care for Rule 34 but the amount of it being produced nowadays concerns me.

I mean, look at other long enduring fandoms. Star Trek nerds haven’t gone down hill.

This isn’t about what peoples opinions of us are.
 
It’s about how the fandom acts within itself. Public opinion of ponies is obviously on the rise and that can be seen anywhere.
 
And the clopping doesn’t hurt the fanbase. It is just the people who constantly bitch about it. And you don’t have to /explain/ clopping to ponies to anyone. I don’t go around telling all of my friends what I masturbate to, so why would a clopper?

looking at history, fandoms that had increasing ammounts of porn have gone downhill, sonic fandom being one, find me three good sonic pictures on the internet without stumbling on atleast 20 bad porn ones and honestly tell me there’s absolutely nothing worrying about that. Plus remember that there’s still a demographic of 6 yearold girls who WILL be searching for pony pictures on the web, if there’s too many porn ones, things can get unpleseant for the creators of the show, and us.

There weird things and there even weirder things. While one can easily explain to his pals that he watches a show for little girls just because it’s gool and etertaing, explaining that one masturbates to it…? I know that it’s not the same as pedophilia, but I wasn’t talking what it its. I was talking how it looks like.
 
I can’t make you stop clopping (nor I want too), just as you can’t make people including other bronies finding it disgusting. That goes the same with everything porn-related - not just with MLP.

Trying to impose our morals and standards onto one another and looking down on those with different interests is what’s hurting our fandom.
 
You can’t blame the cloppers unless they intentionally bring themselves into the public spotlight. You can’t blame the white knights for having morals unless they act irrationally on them.

How so? Is it really that hard to realise that masturbating to horses from childrens’ cartoon people find disgusting? Don’t get me wrong, I’m far from dissing cloppers, because I kinda like tamed questionable art too, especially when humanized. But while moralfags and ponyfags can be annoyig, cloppers make us look like we actually were podophiles or into bestiality.

I don’t think cloppers are bringing down the fandom, for the most part we keep to our own private “sub-subculture” enjoying the R34 art and the regular art separately.

I think it’d be better if it was like season one. It’s gotten a bit more mature in season two, and looks like it has even more in season three…
