Description

Pairing up the Equestrian Ruler’s prized student with the Strawhats’ resident archaeologist, Nico Ribon, as they spend time reading at Twilight’s library. Although smaller in scale compared to one back in her home island, seeing Twilight’s home and range of books reminded her of the grand library of Ohara and Professor Clover when she was little.

Felt the need to add a little more background than originally, but I feel the need that I truly should work more on my perspectives, it feels so off to me and will try and work further on this in later works.

Made some adjustments in photoshop to add a mask to lighten the background and adjust Twilight’s eyes toward Robin’s direction.

Author’s notes: Testing a new posting method of posting not just my final version but also my process of coloring in case anyone who would like to see it. If this is something that you follows like to more of: please leave some feedback.

My teachers always sometimes it’s better to show your work and get a better understanding of how you came to that conclusion.

Thank you, I had tried the pose myself and it is not a pose that is meant to be held for an extended period. Given the book Robin was using her DF powers to get being grabbed by Twilight, would concluded that Robin was taken by surprise by Twilight’s powers; hence turning towards her.

Still considering of doing another TwiRobin pic since I was not fully satisfied with the perspective.

The pose technically does work, but only as a temporary turn. Holding it for an extended period of time would indeed be very uncomfortable. But given the facial expressions I’d say that it is indeed a temporary posture.

Anyway, if you plan on continuing your coloring, I’d say to do Spike and Usopp next! Nami and Rarity can wait, I need myself some dragon-Sogeking goodness.

Having some time to think about it and was my own fault using Tenhjo Tenge as a reference (Maya, girl in the back):

I am considering of doing another Robin/Twilight image and throw in Lyra in for good measure while trying for some real life models for references.

Was trying to get an idea for the first pair of Robin and twilight since I never really drew either of them before, now I have a better idea for the next one.

While I am aware of the realism vs dynamic stylism, I had wish someone point this out while I posted the rough drafts several months ago…

Kinda late but will take note of it. Went dynamic style for realistic for the most part.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

The perspective on the woman’s cleavage looks bizarre, considering her position. Her posture looks terribly uncomfortable. And impossible, frankly.

Faces need some work, and Twilight pose seems forced, other than that, it’s pretty fantastic, specially the shading.

I prefer background colours (penultimate image) better than the final version; I just like how colours contrast with a simple, uncoloured background, but that’s just me.
