While fast asleep at Rarity’s house, her little sister, Sweetie Belle was having peaceful dreams until it turns into a nightmare of a monster taking her away. She can’t move, she can’t even speak. All she can do is watch as this monster takes her to a dark area from where there is no return. Sweetie Belle begins to wake up at first feel relieved, but then realizes like in her dream, she can’t move or speak and she is surrounded in darkness. She wonders if she is still dreaming, but everything feels much more real now then it previously did. Suddenly the lights come on and blind her for a moment, and then a blurred figure approaches her. The figure is mostly pink and she then takes off Sweetie’s gag. In panic, Sweetie asks where she is and who this figure is. The figure refuses to answer where they are, but she announces herself as Starlight Glimmer and that she has kidnapped Sweetie as she heard there was one of 7 girls with magical abilities from Canterlot High. She heard that one of the girls lived at the house she nabbed Sweetie Belle from and is assuming that she is one of them. Sweetie knowing that she was mistaken for Rarity decides to not mention her right now and ask Starlight what she wants with those girls. Starlight says she wants to destroy the magic within these girls as she doesn’t believe anyone should have some special advantage over another person, and she even goes on to state she hates this for certain people who are rich and successful as well or stronger then someone else, or even someone who knows something better then someone else.
 
Sweetie realizes this person is an insane radical with an inferiority complex who basically can’t stand anyone having talent that others may not have. Sweetie asks what she plans to do about it and Starlight says she’s developed of drug that she’s been testing on some items she found touched by magic around Canterlot High and that it will cancel out magic permanently, but along with that, it will weaken the muscles and immune system of the person injected for 12 hours if only given one dose, but three doses within 12 hours and it’s permanent. Starlight says she doesn’t know if Sweetie is one of the correct girls, but she has nothing to lose with a single injection which would cancel out any magic that may be inside her anyway. Once injected, she’ll send a ransom note back at Rarity’s house and request and wait for the other girls with magical properties so she can trick them and destroy the magic within them as well. And with that said, Starlight prepare’s Sweetie’s medication.
