If THAT’S the reason you hate it, you might actually be surprised by some of my stuff. Or at least I hope so.

The reason why I hate grimdark it’s because it’s just… shock, and that’s it.  
There’s no atmosphere, no concept, no exploration of the psyche, it’s just ponies in pain, it just brings cruelty to a cartoon that really doesn’t warrant any.  
Sure, you wanna write a dark story about it? Fine, but make it feel like it has a place belonging to FiM, maybe write a story about a village being enslaved by the Changelings, or the cruelty of a Gryphon-Pony war, or maybe a alternate universe where Nightmare Moon suceeded and plunged the world into famine, chaos and cold.  
There ARE good dark stories to be told with this, just look at Story of the Blanks.
 
With that said, if you want, I can give your work a look if you want and give it a fair chance, granted, there’s a good chance I won’t like it, but if there’s one thing I’m sure is that you can never be completely sure of something.

No, it can interfere with my hability to properly string setences, I hate grimdark both wide awake and sleepy.  
Because I thought, think, and will always think that grimdark is the worst, most pathetic attempt to add “””“maturity”””” to any franchise in the history of eternity.  
And not you, nor man, nor beast, nor GOD shall change my opinions.

Lack of sleep can interfere with your ability to enjoy grimdark. Just means you need more.

I won’t even bother ranting about how much I hate this sort of bullshit.  
I will just say this.  
Every cell has several DNA strands, which are organized in three letter combos, for example, AGT TCA AAC.  
If you picked every single cell of my body, rewrote every strand to have the sequence “HAT EHA TEH ATE”, on every.single.strand of every.single.cell, it still would pale in comparison to the hatred I feel towards this sort of characterization, setting, and mindset.
