Normal is overrated

Season one had Twilight be part of every single episode so she could write the morals back to Celestia, even if she didn’t learn all of them herself. The inclusion of her friends writing back in season 2 was much needed. I agree it was irritating having her be inserted in this episode, along with Call of Cutie and Fall Feathered Friends.

Twilight is the premier straight man of the series, though, so I could see why they included her for the later parts of the episode, even if they could have used, say, Rarity.

Stare Master was an example where there wasn’t even that motivation to include Twilight, but they still did.

GOKAAAAI... SILVER!

God, I still find Twilight’s forced inclusion in this episode really irritating even though it really shouldn’t do that. Seriously, she had no business being involved in this episode’s plot. Whenever people complain about her “hogging the spotlight” or having “too much screentime” in later seasons, I point them towards this episode.
