I’m not sure. Spike loves Rarity, it’s obvious, he literally crushed in her. Spike has no visible fellings to Starlight Glimmer, absolutely, only respect and friendly supporting, sometimes a little bit distrusting about her evil past, no more.

And you just made an excellent point that even I forget sometimes; society changes all the damn time, and MLP obviously takes place in a hybrid between the past and recent past. Heck, they seem to still have a barter system, and they are a monarchy. Wait, I’m sorry, I mean diarchy. This means their laws for so many things could range from “It’s legal to screw 12 years olds” to “slaves are completely moral” or even “Public executions: fun for the whole family!”.

Any artist can draw images of characters who look young but are performing adult actions, does that mean those actions suddenly become characteristic of a non-adult outside of that context? Pokemon has it’s own set of standards, norms, and eccentricities when it comes to this stuff. I don’t expect those to translate well when taken out of that franchise.

For me it’s because, in addition to them living on their own, they all also appear to have jobs and be self sufficient as a result. For instance AJ basically runs their family business. Similarly, Rarity owns her own fashion company, which is well-enough established that she does work with major celebrities. And half of the mane 6 appear to own their own homes (Rarity, Fluttershy, RD). Several of the mane 6 also have somewhat maternal relationships with other characters: So Twi has been raising Spike and, AJ acts like AB’s mother. So to me they all seem fairly adult-ish, even if they do sometimes seem a bit immature/childish.

It’s been five seasons, even if they weren’t before, they are now. And don’t use Equestria Girl’s as proof they are teenagers, because Sunset Shimmer was a teenager in the portal, yet she is obviously older than Twilight because she was a student before Twilight was. Same with the Sirens. They seem to be stuck as teenagers forever.

Why would they compare the two different things? Fluttershy is obviously an adult, and Discord is as well. I don’t see the distinction. In legal eyes age doesn’t matter when both are of age, even if one is thousands of years old. Or are you saying shippers are illogical, and think with their emotions? Actually, I see your point then.

I know there not but the thing is if they did, people who ship spike and rarity would wonder if they can get together, then why can’t they and so on and so forth, it’s all a big mess when people like to ship in a popular series.

I suppose someone has to.
