my reasoning for calling it a downgrade is we’re going from a stable and easy-to-use format to an unstable and difficult-to-use format. true the new format is infinitely scaleable, but when the pictures are a fixed resolution that’s a moot point.

to test my converter
So, it is conversion. Yea, finding decent converter is very difficult. Usually it just turns gradients and clipping paths into raster. You excitedly open new svg, everything seems to be fine; but the moment you zoom in, it’s disappointment: bits and pieces are pixelated. And it’s if it don’t output giant black blob with eldritch zigzagged self-intersecting monstrosity.
 
Well, if images are svg from the start, I think it’s a decent format.

nah, we’re just in the process of downgrading some site images from png to svg so i had to convert some of my spoiler pics to that to ease the life of one of our coders.
 
true story though, i didn’t intentionally make this pic. this is actually what happened when i tried to save this as an svg to test my converter:  

 
so i slapped an intentionally buggy border around it and uploaded it because it made me giggle.

svg are an endless source of frustration for me.
Are you web-designer and frustrated about browser compatibility? Or you trying to convert to and from svg to other vector formats? I can’t think of any other source of frustration.
