Don’t know, honestly. I actually didn’t give it much thought other than “if I draw her in the black cloak the colors are nicer and I don’t have to draw all the colored shapes.”

Clever girl…

That night, Twilight realized that Trixie’s desire for revenge and power weren’t the only desires enhanced. What before was just respect for a rival and acknowledgement of Twilight as a fellow attractive mare, became an obsession filled with passion, to see this beauty compete with her to make the other submit but to kiss Trixie starting at her hoof and work her way up. Twilight noticed this strange development and in a gambit to remove the amulet, invited her to her bedroom.
 
Trixie blushed as Twilight seemingly took the initiative, making this awkward for Twilight as she stood above her. She intended for Trixie to want to remove clothing at this point, but it had the opposite effect as she attempted to cover herself with her cape down there, feeling coy.  
“Wouldn’t you rather take everything off, considering?”
 
“Are you really in such a hurry to be with the great and beautiful Trixie like this? Ladies like us need a certain kind of prep work to set a proper mood. For example, I enjoy when somepony stroking my..ooh..I was going to say ego.”  
“Sorry.”  
“I didn’t say stop.”
 
Twilight stroked behind her ear (where did you think?) and gave her bellyrubs. She made the cutest little noises in response, making Twilight blush as well. Twilight wasn’t getting into this, was she? She tugged on the cape with her mouth, but Trixie only took off the cape. She went for her neck next in the hopes she would take off the amulet to give her full access, but then she turned her head, causing their snouts to boop each other.
 
“We almost kissed there didn’t we? Would you like to try again my pretty little princess?” She was flabbergasted by the zigzag between coy and bold going on here, toying with her feelings..feelings?..focus. She nuzzled with her, trying to physically hint at the amulet’s interference, but Trixie surprised her by nibbling on her ear. She let out a moan instead of the ouch she was expecting out of her own mouth. She preempted Trixie’s next charming line by getting to the point.  
“Would you mind getting this amulet out of my way? Give me full access to your neck?”  
“If you ask me as your great and powerful mistress and let me kiss you wherever I want, it’s a deal.”  
“Please take it off great and powerful mistress.”
 
She takes it off and when Twilight quickly retrieves it, she finds something odd with it.  
“It’s just a replica, but if you want it so bad, fine. Now, time for your end of the bargain.” She smirks like never before.  
End of SFW.

The alternate ending to Magic Duel, where Twilight found a much more interesting way to get Trixie to take off the amulet… along with everything else.

Twilight: Camera 1…camera 2 (Trixie shifts to the side). Camera 1…(Trixie returns to her original position) camera 2 (Trixie shifts again). Camera 1, camera 2. Camera 1, camera 2.  
(switch to Trixie’s POV, where we see Twilight closing her eyes in turn)

This ain’t gonna end all well..

She could probably talk Twi into it.
