Maybe she could even do both forms of reproduction at once, thus giving the father a twin.  
I guess it’d mainly be up to the subconscious of the one who dreamed the creature up what the creature could and couldn’t do, and considering who and what Luna is, that would mean that the Tantabus could probably do things beyond that which most mortal minds could comprehend without compromising or destroying their sanity.

I guess, though I was writing about someone becoming converted into a pony/Tantabus hybrid. However, maybe both forms of mating are possible, where the change is just that the father doesn’t transform, but just provides the gametes for reproduction. It means that Tantabus reproduction is highly convoluted when it doesn’t result in transformation, but if both options are on the table, then it makes things easier for the Tantabus to have a similar method of both transformation reproduction and sexual reproduction.
 
I feel the Tantabus is sentient enough so that she will inquire a willing mate about their desires during copulation. She may also make that choice herself, opting for standard reproduction with most and saving transformation for only her most beloved mates. There’s also the question of if a transformed mate can still reproduce with her or not. If Tantabi can only be female, then obviously transformation reproduction will be even more rare and exclusive.

Spontaneous story time:
 
This is a dream, so imagine a dream scenario where you are unnaturally drawn to climb inside of the Tantabus’ womb. You find a way inside somehow, maybe she kneels or you crawl up her or she just helps you in, and immediately, you’re encased in all sides by the walls of her vagina. Instead of panic, though, you feel comfort, as the walls are warm, soft, wet, and welcoming. Is as if you’re being hugged by your mother as an infant. It becomes the most pleasurable and wonderful texture that your skin has ever laid upon, and it attempts to interpret this ethereal tangible experience to your mortal brain, still bounded somewhat even in the dream world, but overcome by feelings anew to you, and pleasures so great that your brain can barely handle the endorphin flood. It’s not even to say how erotic this feels as it brings your sex to attention, which also feels the walls of this otherworldly chamber and enhances the pleasure ten-fold due to the nerve endings, numerous and dedicated to signaling pleasure for the end goal procreation, firing at full speed.
 
Needless to say, as you sink further into the Tantabus’ pit, you quickly come to climax and spurt more seed that you thought possible. It’s a wash of ecstasy so great that it saps your energy and causes you to pass out. You don’t fight the oncoming coma, but embrace it as you feel comforted by the warm and soft insides of the Tantabus’ womb, and as you enter a dream within your dream, she pushes you deeper within her body, probably being helped down by what could be called villi but might be more appropriately thought of as tentacles, until you enter her uterus, which clamps down upon you and encases you with the same softness, warmness, and wetness that the birth canal provided on your way in.
 
Once inside, the fleshy extensions slither along your body, feeling for their appropriate places to connect to your small form. One will enter your belly button and connect to your circulatory system, merging with your flesh and becoming a new umbilical cord. Another may form a slippery orifice designed to snugly fit around your penis; it’s function only to keep you in a state of pleasure and sedation. Still more may just wrap around your body and merge into a fleshy suit, with one of the tentacles entering your airways to provide air as you are fully enclosed in the new sac, soon to be suspended by fluid designed to protect you from large accelerations as you rest.
 
If it sounds in any way that you are becoming a child to the Tantabus, it’s because you are. It is unbirth in the fullest sense, easily achievable in a world of dreams, bound loosely by the pesky laws of physics if bounded at all by any form of logic. Of course, becoming a child in the womb of Luna’s nightmares made real isn’t without a purpose, as your body will be changed by the blood of the Tantabus circulating within your own body and her cells modifying your own. You will soon become like her, a hybrid of human and ethereal creature, as this is one of her methods of producing young.

I’m not normally into unbirth, but this is a nice exception.

Get is a Japanese expression for getting something, first popularized by Super Mario Sunshine: When Mario grabbed a Shine Sprite, text would show up reading Shine Get! This was changed outside of Japan. Other mediums before and after have done the same thing: Item Get!, Point Get!, Victory Get!, et cetera.
