I think we can all relate to having known a complete jerk of a cat. Some cats are just plain bastards, yo.
There’s a difference between a minor character and a bad one.
He’s a pet, he’s not going to have some profound depth to him.
He’s a lovable jerk.

That’s what “Angel is a villain” is though, a fandom meme. He’s a prick and a spoiled brat, but does care for Flutters, and is the tough love she needs in her life. These’s only one appearance where he’s an absolute dick for no reason, and the fandom latched onto it almost as hard as they did Derpy.

what’s the use being so defensive of this character anyway? he doesn’t play a big part and I can’t recall him having any outstanding performances as of late? I and a lot of other people think he’s unlikable, I’d try to accept it.
Outside off Hoof, he’s quite helpful to Shy, like when he helped her train to be a better flier.

No, I’m saying it doesn’t count since it makes everypony a yay simply just to prove a point. If the town wasn’t on the bandwagon, I would view Angel’s abusive behaviour a bit more like canon.

However, the ep I’m saying that doesn’t matter would “Putting your Hoof Down”. You know, the one where Bon Bon and the rest of the town was a biyay to Flutters? Yeah, you can see why I say it doesn’t count when talking about Angel.
