And how can you say with certainty that NMM1 and NMM2 have “different personalities” when it’s explicitly the same spirit within the bodies involved? Heck, NMM2’s first words when she appears are literally “It’s true. Your powers have defeated me before, little ponies. But what will you do, now that I’ve taken one of you? Without ALL of you, your Elements of Harmony are powerless.”
wouldn’t this work just like with Venom and Carnage in spiderman universe?
If I’m correct Carnage is part of Venom so they are the same thing but they use different host. Just like here.
both “Nightmares” have different bodies and different personalities.
Except that, as far as the comics go, the ‘Nightmare’ is supposed to be one thing that previously possessed Luna before coming back for Rarity. Thus it’s closer to one being possessing two bodies.
It’s made quite clear in the comics they are the same character. Nightmare Rarity clearly refers to past events when she was Nightmare Moon, and Nightmare Moon’s “Fiendship is Magic” issue is basically a prequel to the NMR arc.
