I do love a good pony pun! It’s half the fun of making content for the show for me - making a really awesome/awful pun.
Also no, I should have put that in the description: Cadence is an Alicorn in this picture, she just hates being one so in front of most ponies, she hides her horn in her mane. (Only pony she doesn’t hide it from is Big Macintosh because she trusts him that much and Celestia so she can see exactly the damage Cadence blames her for)
Unless it’s a direct focus of the piece I just don’t draw one at all - how does she hide it? Mostly her long thick mane and probably some magic too.
By the time she meets Twilight and becomes closer to Shining Armor, she has much less of a hang up about it - though even to this day, she still feels a bit exposed showing it off and isn’t entirely comfortable with herself but part of trying is not allowing herself to hide away like she used to and dealing with it.
Ha! Well luckily back then Cadence was outright refusing to be referred to as Celestia’s family, so there wasn’t any comments like that thrown at the two of them from anypony.
They’re about as related as Discord and Rarity. x) (I do love a good FiW reference though)
