Not really. In a way, maybe, but it seems to me more like DS2 NPC’s get you more invested than DS3. Yes, Anri is a good friend, but Lucatiel actually build from being more confrontational, she trusts you and even bares her fears to you, even the worst parts of herself, and in the end you are there to see that all your help was for naught. where Anri, like a lot of DS1 NPC’s, just hollows offscreen.
