I would also enjoy the topic of 7th element being brought up along with or together with Sunset’s eventual reunion with Celestia. Plus they might need it if they want any tension in a movie where in a prior movie, the main characters may or may not have brought forth a power way more powerful then the new main villain.
Edited
Heh, interesting. Hopefully, if not the fifth movie, maybe the specials will do a little B plot on the Elements. :3
True, but with Sunset’s element, y’know, completing the Harmony Blaster into its true form, simply adding an entirely different element willy-nilly isn’t going to be an easy sell. Celestia and Luna may be gods among
menponies, but they were hardly perfect and they eventually broke apart. On a cosmic level, one could say that neither earned the true wisdom of Empathy, and so never attained the final element. From appearances, what they summoned in Rainbow Rocks with all 7 elements was the SOURCE of the elements sentience.With the elements, tree, box, and map being quasi-sentient, I’d imagine they could always just materialize more for no reason, much like Sunset’s, lol.
I think I get what your saying.
More over, this presumed mandate is, well…troubling for the future of mlp, both in the show and in the upcoming movie. Its not like they are completely separate from each other in BOTH ways, EG’s canon has MLP:FiM’s canon but expanded onto the normal earth equivalent just like Narnia had, along with a new element. Hell the cave where the Tree of Harmony is in Equestia and the cave where the stones were kept on Earth seemed to be practically the exact same cave transdimensionally, which has serious implications, implications that harken back as early freakin episode 2 of mlp:fim, where RD states that weather works by Earth rules in Everfree, not Equestrian rules.
Since Tirek’s fall and the premier of Rainbow Rocks, the tv show has avoided any direct usage of Friendship Magic from being used (even though its practically the title of the show) for more then 2 seasons. But they can’t keep that up forever, least of all in the movie.
What I’m trying to say is… is there any scenario or character that is actually a legitamate threat when knowing the full expanded canon power of the elements? (And I sincerely doubt there going to try the ‘Celestia, Luna, and the entire Mane 6 were captured easily and Luna couldn’t overpower some changeling grunts.) When Sunset merged her element with the other six, the old Harmony Blaster took its actual true form. A practical Equestrian Harmony GOD. Even if the Storm King in the upcoming movie is more powerful then Tirek, would we really be impressed by his power if the seven elements isn’t acknowledged as a threat he can overcome, and we practically know the 7 elements could banish who-ever he is with ease?
MLP:EG has more power in Friendship is Magic…then the actual show, MLP:Friendship is Magic. A LOT more. Let that sink in.
And like you said, there’s a limitation on making either Trixie or Starlight suddenly a new 8th or 9th element out of nowhere because it would simply ring up the question even more ‘where’s Sunset Shimmer?”
To sum it up, the show’s hands are tied because of Sunset’s contribution to the distributed canon and how its developed. Nothing is a real threat.
Humility sounds more like Starlight’s. Even then, I’d use the term “Redemption”.
Also, me suggesting a eighth and ninth element was kind of a joke, but still something I sort of want as well. Though, I understand it’d be difficult to implement partly because of the presumed mandate separating both Canterlot High and Sunset from Starlight and the original Trixie, but mostly because of the question everyone from the creators to the fans refuse to answer: “Why not?”
Well, maybe refuse is the wrong word, I’m not great at articulating my thoughts with complete clarity, lel. The question is answered, it’s just that as far as can recall I’ve never heard one that seem 100% convincing… Sorry, rambling… ^3^;
Humility I suppose.
Ah crap, well it’s not like it matters anymore anyway.
What would hers be? Element of Smug?
The Ninth Element? ;3
