Perhaps Flash Sentry is unique. Maybe he has a special ability. Or is a different rank than the others.
Well if Flash Sentry still retains his colors then I doubt the uniforms are enchanted, canonically that is. Maybe white and black guards are just more common then the colored ones, who knows until its mention in the show. Still good headcanon though.
I’m partial to the headcanon that royal armor is enchanted to make all the ponies uniform white/black. Shadowstone did a great video on it a while back.
