As you can imagine, it’s not exactly straight forward on how one would approach animating a horse to play a piano. I’ll continue to work on it to make it not feel jerky while still having her play as many notes as possible. Though obviously she won’t be able to play everything, not just because she’s playing on a 23 key piano.

One thing I think could help is to tone down the amount of motion in the rest of the legs - there’s an economy of motion in playing piano, where the elbows move lethargically and most of the action comes from the wrists, which only really jump high off the keyboard during large movements between notes or after particularly accented notes, like animating mouth flaps during lip sync. Here’s a video of some particularly dynamic playing that should give you a better idea of the general motion that says “playing piano.”
Of course, no pony’s got the dexterity to twiddle notes like that, but Coloratura’s playing is more laid back anyway. Hope that helps!
