a character’s name can be trademarked, not copyrighted, to stop people from deceiving others by putting the wrong name on a cheap knockoff (with a different design). copyright only applies to the actual drawings of that character.
anyway, even if lawyers tell you it’s totes legit, it’s a bad idea to trust someone who strokes your ego by telling you that you can charge money for something that you cannot sell. you can trust them if you want, I just wanted to throw a warning out there.
Not sure what do you mean, but as long as I remember, a character along with it’s looks, name, story can by copyrighted.
btw don’t trust anyone claiming you can copyright a design.
