I actually had my own twist idea on the G5 twilight concept.

My idea would basically be that a new threat came to Equestria that Twilight and the others couldn’t handle. As a last resort Twilight created a spell using the elements that scattered the races to different worlds while sealing the world of Equestria away like Sombra once did the crystal empire. Sealing the evil with it. However it did so at the cost of the Mane 6’s lives.

However, Friendships never die. Centuries later, Twilight and her friends are reborn in new forms. Can they rememeber the past and stop the returning evil for for this time?
(bit of Breathe of the Wild influence with this plot. Basically the great evil weakened over the time it was sealed so now they actually stand a chance.)

Starlight,Spike,and the others basically left behind records so the past wouldn’t be forgotten, records which are key to Twilight and the others regaining memories of their past lives. Well in the case of Spike, he just got older. As for Alicorns? It would much later be explained the Alicorn power was all spent to lock the prison twilight and her friends had created. As a result, all Alicorns lived out mortal lives and have since passed on as normal ponies.

As for the Equestria that was sealed away to trap the great evil…we already saw it. Remember the future that Starlight and Twilight once saw, the wasteland world? A world nothing grows in anymore.(yeah I know it was suppose to hint at Daybreaker but this works for my plot idea since they never clarified what actually did it.)

As for WHAT the great evil was?
Perhaps the Umbra, Eris, Cosmos,I dunno, they have a lot of Comic villians to choose from we never got and we never got the real Grogar either.

But how do you like the idea and is there any workshopping I need to do? I’m planning a fanfic with it…

Not gonna lie? Really wish we got the original G5 concept. A fresh new lore that takes notes from G4, but old familiar characters given a new spin. The characters were always the strongest aspect of G4, with the worldbuilding and lore being very hit or miss. The original G5 concept seemed an elegant solution.

Instead, we get the same world and continuity, but a new cast of characters that have been very hit or miss…

Also, the leaked concept stuff of G5 Twilight was really cool…

Well, I would agree that Abyssinia is east of the Dragon/Kirin/Zebra/Kelpie/Abada/Grootslang Continent because Abyssinia is based on the Ethiopian Empire in East Africa. While the Land of the Hippogriffs is east of Griffonstone as the Griffon/Hippogriff continent because both griffons and hippogriffs are Greek mythical creatures.

What’s this about a World Tree now? I haven’t really heard anything about Gen5 MLP other than the fact that it’s a thing that’s apparently happening.
 
Also, I feel I should mention that the original World Tree from Norse mythology was named “Yggdrasil”.

According to the Gameloft game, however, the specific badlands are the ones to the west of Arimaspi territory, not the circular canyon to the southeast of Dodge.

Looking at this picture makes me think of how awesome it would be to have a series of Elder Scrolls-like Open World RPG games set in Equestria and the surrounding lands.

THey are in the badlands(the round crater like land). This was already set up in the comics and though it wasn’t out right stated the recent season finale did show the changeling hive to pretty much be in a land very similar to the what the comics showed. So even if the comics aren’t completely canon, it pretty confirmed that the changeling hive that Queen Chrysalis use to rule is in the badlands.

The movie did imply that “Equestria” is only the lands inhabited primarily by Ponies, and that the Mane 6 are having to travel “beyond Equestria” to distant lands in the movie.

Looks like it’s complete now. Full representation of the land of Equestria

Equestria is referred to just one country.

That southwestern peninsula on the tip of the continent appears to have a forest that I suppose represents the location in this scene here.

While the eastern tip of the continent is where the Mane 6 are shown flying towards the Hippogriff kingdom in here.  

 
I’m surprised the Friendship Express goes down that south.  
I don’t know what those dunes are inhabited by.  
But the town that is bordering the northwestern part of the desert appears to be where the Friendship Express terminates, and might likely be the southern most reach of Equestrian territory.
 
Kludgetown is way deep in the middle of the desert.
 
That Oriental looking junk looks like it’s sailing westbound. But there is nothing further west shown on this current version of the map. Huh…. potential for more map expansion in the future of the series?
