Twilight was conflicted through much of it, look at her expressions, she clearly was having second thoughts well before she saw Stygian. Also until we saw Stygian there was zero evidence that there was anything left of him in the Pony of Shadows.
Also I wouldn’t say Twilight got all the credit, Star Swirl was just simplifying things I think.
@Ryodraco
From the very beginning Starlight said “Hey, try reasoning with your friend” to Starswirl saying “You don’t know what you’re talking about. You can’t talk to him.” And what did Twilight say in Starlight’s defense? Nothing. She just kept her head down and went back to working with Starswirl. Yeah, it wasn’t until AFTER she saw the pony that she thought “Oh crap, maybe we’re doing this wrong!”. I’m just saying that giving Twilight ALL the credit for being the friendship teacher is bull.

Unless Starlight is saying don’t rescue the Pillars, if they had listened to her at that time then nobody would have been saved.
Also it was Twilight who defied Star Swirl and leaped into the eldritch abomination upon the first sign that there was a pony inside, and when Starlight joined in her argument to reach Stygian was dependent on Twilight being there. Starlight’s contributions to the events shouldn’t be understated, but they shouldn’t be overstated either.
I just noticed that Luna doesn’t move at all during the whole clip, besides her ethereal ‘windswept’ mane.
I guess she’s taking a good long look at the other five offscreen ancient heroes?
It is something that is attained…
Yeah, I might be projrcting, but I felt like Starlight didn’t get nearly enough credit, aside from that one comment.

Starlight showed you Friendship is a powerful force, Twilight kissed your ass after she messed up because she didn’t listen to Starlight.
The theme of this episode? Listen to Starlight.
I know right? Its like Starlight saying “your senpai noticed you!”
I guess she’s taking a good long look at the other five offscreen ancient heroes?

She was quick enough to know who he meant about ‘wisdom’.
It’s much cuter that Twilight didn’t realize until he said it,
since the princess of friendship is very humble.
