Well, it was in technicality Novo’s fault for wasting Twilight’s entire death-defying journey like that. They almost drowned for Celestia’s sake, and they just refuse their help even after that. So she was practically asking for trouble, even if she had no idea Twilight’s trust on her own friends was waning after 3 screw-ups: Ignoring Twilight’s advice and drawing unneeded attention to them from the ruffians of Klugetown, trusting Capper without asking important questions, AND giving away their position with a Rainboom and getting Celaeno’s ship destroyed because of it, and thus relying on herself and resorting to flat-out stealing their most important magical relic. So both of them are at fault here. Twilight for assuming she knew what was best for Equestria by flat-out tricking her friends, and Novo for flat-out sacrificing Equestria for her own kingdom’s safety.

From what I’ve heard the comics are canon unless the show proves otherwise via a retcon or contradiction of sorts. The comics probably might not be the best guide to this (especially considering the whole multi-species meetup thing could have happened during or after season 8). So you do make a good point.
 
But given how a lot of the Hippogriffs wear part of the pearl on necklaces, how some willingly go back and forth from the sea and land, now and how much the Hippogriffs appear to like Twilight, even without going by the comics it might be safe to say that Novo has fogiven her.

@mjangelvortex But I don’t think it regarded the pearl. Still, the IDW comics aren’t entirely canon. The S8E1 pre-intro prologue immediately took place after the end credits. Should the comics REALLY fill in the gaps?

It likely was. The two of them talked in the comics without any bad blood between them and that seemed to take place before season 8.

I love this piece.  
Kind of wish these two did get to have a conversation at the end of the movie.  
Preferably before Twilight goes to speak with Tempest Shadow,  
think it would just work better in that order.

Greek mythology has existed hundreds of years before Disney made Hercules. Disney’s Hercules wasn’t even that much of a big hit movie compared to their other Renaissance movies (even compared to some of the unpopular but cult classic ones like Hunchback of Notre Dame).

@mjangelvortex Could Hasbro/DHX be having those ideas of their own? Maybe they’ve seen the 1997 Clements/Musker-directed Disney film, Hercules.

I like the idea of Queen Novo and Celestia being childhood friends. Though I guess that would mean Novo is also thousands of years old. The Titan idea seems pretty cool too.

Yeah that’s it. The claws are a bit thin here which makes it look a bit jarring. The ones in the movie were bigger than this and more paw like when the Hippogriffs weren’t using them as hands.

Its not that this is claws, its more freaky-finger looking thats whats freaking me out.

The mix of hooves and claws is freaking me out.
