It was a misunderstanding, they apologized, let’s calm down and not get worked up over something trivial.
Wow you need to chill. I love Octavia myself, but a character that looks similar to her in the background doesn’t insult her at all.

You know things like identical twins exist, right? I don’t know why you’re so offended over a simple background character.
That error was back in Season 1 when we didn’t have as much background ponies as we do now. Plus a lot of wacky errors like that were more common then (like Applejack’s constantly disappearing freckles).
We did get a completely different mane color for Derpy once. I wouldn’t be surprised.
She’s a canon character from the movie. Quit your bitching.
Possibly but I doubt it. She only appeared in the movie so we can’t really tell if this is a mistake or not. Plus her Cutie Mark is still different from Octavia’s. Hers is white and has two G-Clefs while Octavia’s is just one and is purple.
And even if they did have the same cutie mark, it doesn’t seem too out there for me. Some people have similar talents and hobbies, so ponies who have similar hobbies getting similar Cutie Marks makes sense to me.
What if this was just another animation error, and they used the wrong cutie mark?

She’s a background pony that was only seen in the movie. I don’t recall her being in the TV series at all.

Oh neat. Did they specifically say he was Vinyl’s older brother or is that just a common headcanon people have for him?
Can we consider that Octavia recolour with a blue mane and a yellow coat their sister too? (My headcanon is a bit different, but it’s interesting to hear other people’s).

Wait, wait, wait. How’d you get four? Vinyl, Octavia, and Symphonia makes three.
And even if it was four, that doesn’t seem to be so bad to me. Some families are a bit larger than others. It’s not like you gave them 8 or more siblings so four sisters is honestly not too hard to keep track of.
Four seems a bis too much to me, though.
You can still do that even if this character is also Octavia’s sister. Last time I checked a person can have multiple siblings.
