Yep. The big thing they changed about her eyes was giving her two catchlights. She was originally the only female character who only had one, and I think it was a reference to how she was originally pitched as a male character: Females tend to have two, males tend to have one, and foals tend to have three :D

Trixie originally had a much more unique eye and horn style, with a fatter horn, eyelashes unique to her and Mayor Mare, and only one catchlight:

your current filter.Probably they did it to save time, like since she’s a more recurring character now they want to re-use standard animation models instead of constantly making unique ones for her, but I don’t use models and I much prefer her old design so I continue to use it :D
I was not aware about the eye style thing, so all I really had to go on was “blue pony, purple eyes”. Though I will admit the shades of blue are not as close as I thought they were.
…But honestly, I mostly just wanted an excuse for a teacup-based pun.
I like eldritch abomination shapeshifter Trixie better, lol
Someone else added that. Besides, I always draw Trixie with her old eye style so this isn’t that similar to how I draw Trixie outside of a somewhat similar color scheme :D
