Miller has been pushing the narrative that Applejack’s parents have been alive this whole time for a while now, including when he was commenting on the episode where Applebloom got her cutie mark  
 
As for the drawing it can’t really be proven or disproved since we didn’t see Applebloom in the past part of Where the Apple Lies and we can’t quantify if she was alive at that point since we don’t know her age but they probably didn’t include her or the parents since they didn’t fit in that particular storytelling scenario. Also as it’s been said wouldn’t the parents be the ones inheriting the farm if they were alive?

Keep in mind the context is that he was talking about where they were in the AJ flashback ep.

It still doesn’t make any sense. Big Mac or Applejack would own the farm if Granny Smith died. Why on Earth would they own something if their parents are still alive?
