Dude, he is a FRICKIN’ KID!
 
He is allowed to screw up from time to time, and he is the perfect example of the show’s characters: they always have and/or cause some kind of problem to fix it later and learn a lesson of friendship because of it.
 
Besides, I understand that he was a jerk in the first couple of seasons, but he is just like Twilight and the CMC: he has evolved in maturity and other aspects just like Twilight became the princess of friendship and the CMC discovered their true talents by growing up and deciding to help others instead of being selfish and only worry for their cutie marks.
 
And I personally don’t understand why the Spike hate is coming all of a sudden NOW, I mean, after the most recent episode it’s been everywhere.
