Description
After well over 4 months of drawing abstinence (not counting some small stuff here and there) I wanted to finally start drawing my beloved ponies again! The initial thought was to do a couple of small pics to stretch my lazy drawing muscles and get back in shape. Then I thought, why not combine all the practice into one short comic strip? The last comic I made not too long ago was a bucket of fun to do, so the choice was easy.
The story on this here is nothing too big, nothing too witty or exciting, just a little cute piece of everyday pony life. As said, it was more of an exercise to get back into my various techniques. It’s yours to decide how well that worked out. Wink/Razz
Plus, Lyra+Bon Bon Day just passed, so I think it fits the theme pretty well. Sadly, I couldn’t get it done dead on schedule… but here it is anyways!

There was also the episode where Spike asks Pinkie for a quill and she mishears him and offers various items that sound the same.
I heard at least one of the items is poisonous to horses (I think it was the quiche, might have been another of the items).

madame leflour is a sack of flour, but there are potato chips at sugarcube corner, in applebuck season. rainbow dash also has a plate with roasted potatoes in the detective rarity episode.
chocolate is another thing that most animals find quite toxic. and onions. humans are actually pretty ridiculously toxin resistent, far as real world animals go. we smoke tobacco, fry tomatoes, mash potatoes, roast eggplant, and the rest of the animal kingdom is like “what the hell why do you keep eating deadly nightshade???”
but we certainly can’t stomach tulips.

Especially potatoes, I guess. Pinkie has a sack of potatoes that used to be her imaginary friend iirc.

Real horses have multiple stomaches? I’m surprised I haven’t seen a fan use this in fanworks considering all the other horse things they like to use.

The original guy that voiced Bugs Bunny was allergic to carrots but still chewed them while recording his lines for authenticity (and then spit them out).
yeah that’d be pretty funny. especially since it’s true most actors spit out whatever food it looks like they ate on film. because after take 497, you’d be awfully full if you actually ate it.
I remember a joke in one of those fanfics where the ponies are actors where Twilight Sparkle spits the sandwich after the camera finishes recording and complains about getting tired of pretending to eat those flowers.
my point is that horses don’t. in fact, I’m not aware of a creature that does, outside of my little ponies. glycosides are a highly effective plant defense.
I meant that they’re poisonous on humans, for we don’t have our digestive systems adapted to neutralize their toxins and whatnot. I know horses and many other creatures have their digestive systems adapted so they can eat them, that was my point.
well, humans, horses, chordates… anything with a digestive system basically. unless it’s adapted to eat poisonous plants. which ponies were until canon f-ed it up.
That, of course, on HUMANS.
