Looking For My Doctor
Ok, I’ve replaced the file using the large download on DeviantArt and compared the results to the original on DeviantArt and the first upload here, and I think this is being caused by the “AdobeRGB versus sRGB” color profile information in the EXIF data.

Here’s what I’m seeing now

The image on the far left is how the image is being shown via a “View” on this site following replacement. The image on the far right is the image that had been previously uploaded. The image in the middle is the original file from DeviantArt.

As you can see - the “original” or DeviantArt version of the image has a noticeably different color - it is much “richer” and the new versions on the left and right are “washed out” or “dull”.

Looking at the binary data in the files themselves, the main difference I see between the files is that the DeviantArt version of the image has an “AdobeRGB” color profile embedded in it as a part of its EXIF data. DerpiBooru removes the EXIF data on upload, which is why you are seeing a difference in colors. The EXIF can contain personal information, such as camera or software information, and even the location where an image was taken, so we discard that information with any images uploaded to the site.

In brief, this is a fairly common problem images saved from PhotoShop that are intended for display, rather than print, because it saves the image in the working color space (embedded or not, depending on your settings), and EXIF data may or may not be honored by browsers and other services (like DerpiBooru).

And AdobeRGB (which is great for print) is not the same as sRGB (which browsers prefer for display), so you’ll see these slight, but definitely noticeable, changes in color.

There’s a great write-up about all of this, and how to get the color results that you want using the tools you already have, here.

Basically, you need to either be working in the display colorspace (be careful you don’t overwrite your For-Print version of the file when doing this) or make sure that you convert the file to the colorspace for display when saving it.

I hope this helps, but if not please do not hesitate to PM me or reply.

@Tsitra360

Have you tried uploading the file itself from your own pc? I’ve tried downloading the pic from DA and then uploading it onto here to see if that works, but nada.

I dont understand why the image is looking like this. In my folder the colors are indeed far more warmer than it appears here. In fact, the Tumblr and Deviantart posts they appear warmer as well.

overall really nice. the look totally cute.
tho i think that the scene isnt warm enough. candles emit way more warmer light. the scene appears too cold for that.
looks more like an flashlight lits the scene. and i am just speaking about the light sources infront of dash and twi. the one from the window, casting the moonshine is alright. so yeah. shading and all is fine. but the color temperatur is off.
