Description

“Reminder that Christianity is a good ethical and social foundation for a society regardless of its verity. As crazy as this may sound, good religion keeps society sane.”

Yes. Contrary to popular myth, the Supreme Court has never outlawed “prayer in schools.” Students are free to pray alone or in groups, as long as such prayers are not disruptive and do not infringe upon the rights of others. But this right “to engage in voluntary prayer does not include the right to have a captive audience listen or to compel other students to participate.” (This is the language supported by a broad range of civil liberties and religious groups in a joint statement of current law.)

What the Supreme Court has repeatedly struck down are state-sponsored or state-organized prayers in public schools.

The Supreme Court has made clear that prayers organized or sponsored by a public school — even when delivered by a student — violate the First Amendment, whether in a classroom, over the public address system, at a graduation exercise, or even at a high school football game. (Engel v. Vitale, 1962; School Dist. of Abington Township v. Schempp, 1963; Lee v. Weisman, 1992; Santa Fe Independent School. Dist. v. Doe, 2000)

It’s a common myth that “prayer is not allowed in schools” in the US, but that’s a bunch of hogwash; any school that tried to stop a student from expressing their religion in a non-disruptive manner would get its ass sued off in a heartbeat, Because First Amendment, Beeyatch.

SUNSET: Pinkie, I think should seriously consider how your constant partying is affecting your relationship with Jesus.
PINKIE: WHAT?!

That’s this. That’s the audio I associate with this picture.

Is pinkie just shocked that sunset is about to prayer to school? I should mention the only reason this law exists is to prevent the majority from forcing their views on others (which admittedly their parents can do without legal restrictions). For the most part, so long as the students keep said prayers from disrupting school activities and and aren’t used to ostracize people of other faiths, no one with basic human compassion actually cares that the kids are whispering to whatever god(s) were enforced by their parents and community (there are many converts, but typically religions obey borders).

I want a (completely unironic) image of Sunset Shimmer playing guitar and singing lead vocals in a Christian country band performing “Are You Washed in the Blood?”

On the contrary. Yes, slavery is allowed in the Old Testament, but that was restricted to Israel. Now, us Christians follow the New Testament. The New Testament doesn’t condone slavery and Christians like Saint Patrick and William Wilberforce had helped abolish slavery. As for contradictions and reality, you could ask a theologian or a scholar about those. Christianity is also a force against Islam and political correctness.

Also, if you are going to have like an asshole, don’t ask the question “Why do Christians not like us?”

Duck - A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.
The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

There are those who are infuriated by the thought of a righteous authority condemning their way, as it is written: “Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.”

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly”
“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; 13And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 18For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”
“This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

I mean, she turned into a literal demon. At that point, it’s less about theology and more similar to going to a doctor.
