Which is orders of magnitudes less egregious of a crime than other villains have been forgiven for.
It wasn’t just “unsavory social engineering”, it was a sabotage attempt, pure and simple (on two counts even, as it jeoparized both the Wonderbolts show and Rainbow Dash’s career). And he did that without an ounce of remorse.

I am not so hateful. Some people just put negativity on this pedestal and worship ‘bad’ as all powerful, but I do not. In-fact Rarity investigates is one of my least-favorite episodes because of that. I hate that some antagonists endanger thousands of lives and are off the hook, but others are beyond redemtion for unsavory social engineering.
The thing he did was bad enough to ruin his career - and his justification of “sometimes you have to play dirty to be the best” shows that he was undoubtedly morally flawed (at least as bad as Spoiled Rich, who never broke any rule that we know, but still spent some time being a pretty poor role model for Diamond Tiara).

Maybe replace them with Svengallop and Gladmane (and throw Suri Polomare and Zesty Gourmand in for good measure).

So? Since when does getting sent to Tartarus make her insane? She was sent to Tartarus because she tried to drain all the magic from Equestria! She was sent to Tartarus because she was EVIL. What does that have to do with mental stability?
She was sent into tartarus for celestia’s sake! Also chrysalis lost her charm ever since the royal wedding.
Cozy Glow isn’t insane at all. She’s devious and remarkably intelligent, and excellent at predicting the actions of her enemies. How on earth is she mentally unstable in any way? Also, what about Chrysalis is NOT awesome?
Chrysalis isn’t the greatest, and cozy glow is insane, but the difference between the two is that nobody will care if you cry about cozy glow.
So you say Wind Rider is a better character than Lightning Dust? Riiiiiiiiight…….I’m really not feeling it. Also “just wanting his record to stand” is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for attempting to frame someone for a crime they didn’t commit in order to get them unjustly banished.

He deliberately framed Rainbow Dash to be kicked out of the Wonderbolts (not to mention sabotaging a Wonderbolt show by sending Spitfire away on a wild goose chase), how’s that for causing harm to somepony else?
Also, Lightning Dust didn’t actually plan to hurt other ponies, she just didn’t care if somepony else got hurt because of her recklessness (not that much better, but still).

Yeah but the problem with it is that most, if not all, of the images with that tag don’t actually have a point to make.
