Description
All it takes is a twitch in time, the right pony at the wrong time, a helping hoof here, a bad decision there, and you find yourself in a universe that is very different yet not too unfamiliar. A much earlier friendship with a certain Cream Heart allows Delta Vee the perspective to see some things through and put some others behind. While being a single mother means she’s had to give up some dreams, she now lives to see one grow up right before her eyes. And maybe, just maybe, with a little love, a little perseverance, and whole lot of fire extinguishers, she and the little one can one day pick up where she left off.

I envision Delta as still living and working her rocket junkyard to make ends meet. Feeling guilty of robbing Delta of her dreams of working for the Equestrian Space Agency and his inability to face the fruit of that guilt, his own daughter, an embittered Jet threw himself at his work, building a ruthless industrial empire with a hoof in everything from dangerous magical waste removal and unscrupulous video game publishing to, obviously, commercial space flight.

She is indeed. Trying to provide for a daughter with limitless energy by running a used rocket parts scrapyard is not easy. I envision her doing some part time work to make ends meet. She does get plenty of help and support from her friend, Cream Heart (Button’s mom). She also occasionally resorts to wheedling a bit of money out of Jet Stream whenever her daughter needs something extra.
Looks like she’s having financial difficulties too.
Not quite. It says Delta’s a single mom. Does that mean that Jet’s the bitter drunk who lives in a junkyard? Apogee’s dream is a loving, two parent household.
