“The ends justify the means and we are far from the end”
Arkangel. Born with a physical mutation that made the sclera black and the iris red. This birth mutation is the main cause of his isolation, hidden by his family and rejected by the few who knew him. Arkangel was fortunate to be born into a wealthy and caring family that saw nothing wrong with his mutation.
Yet life wouldn’t be so kind. One day war came, many knew of the devil child of Ritter and whispered him to be the bad omen that caused it. It was these whispers that made him even more of an isolationist, going so far as to never leave his home. As the war continued the thief Rosemary decided to steal from Ritter and went after Arkangel. After this event, Arkangel decided to join the war much to his father’s protest.
His early career was full of insults and hatred, yet Arkangel persevered and finally fought his first battle. It was a disaster, an ambush wiped out almost his entire company. Unbeknownst to him though, a silent guardian watched from the shadows and denied the killing blow every time. Arkangel left the ambush with hatred burning in him, he joined another company and promptly joined the next battle.
With pure hatred burning in him the coward, tame and shy pegasus was gone. Battles came and went as Arkangel was known as leaping into the fray and emerging unscathed. His silent guardian decided it was time to introduce him to the terminator program.
Once he was taken to the program and found many with the same hatred in them he sought to become a role model for them. His mutation immediately put him ahead of the others. Only a few could compare to him in leadership, yet their style of fighting was far different. In the end, after the terminators were given dark magic, it was Arkangel that grew strongest from it. Showing that his mutation was actually a curse from dark magic.
When the terminators emerged into the war they were led by an emotionless and merciless creature. Ironically it was the endless war that returned his emotions and empathy to him, seeking to one day leave it and spend the rest of his life with his lover Rosemary.
Fate would decide otherwise however. In the final days of the war, Arkangel was condemned to death for a diabolical act he committed. The terminators stood with him but he refused to let them suffer the same fate and sacrificed himself.
What would happen if this was not meant to be the end of Arkangel? what would happen if he never truely died?
