I think most people call it “diaper fetish” whether or not it’s sexual, if someone likes the feeling of wearing diapers.
 
Though I imagine people who are actually incontinent or otherwise need them get a pass if they like the feeling because they don’t like uncontained accidents. Though the line may get blurry around there. There’s always blurry edge cases. But “I like the feeling of wearing diapers” is generally diaper fetish.
 
Though actually people would probably still consider that diaper fetish, just a lot more understandable.

Not disposable diapers, no. Those use superabsorbant polymers and are relatively recent, coming about in the mid/late 20th century.
 
But old cloth diapers go way back. Wikipedia’s article on diapers talks about their history a good bit.
 
But I’d wager they potty trained children way younger when diapers weren’t very effective at doing their job and always had to be hand-washed. Being potty trained a lot earlier, and diapers being far less effective, both those things probably made diaper fetish way more rare. And of course much more difficult and busy lives, heh.

Were diapers even invented yet in the time period depicted here?
