That’s understandable. I like the headcanon myself but I don’t get on people’s cases for shipping them since they’re not canonically related.
I find the fact that both of Sunburst’s parents having socks and other markings while Sunset doesn’t makes it pretty clear they aren’t. I don’t mind the headcanon itself, I just don’t like hearing it every time I post any art of the two together.
I think more people like the idea of these two being related, not just because of their color scheme but for other reasons too. Sunburst and his parents seem to have sun based names and cutie marks. Also, he and Sunset are unicorns that are pretty well knowledged in magic and went to Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. So the two of them do have more in common than Scootalo and Smolder or Braeburn and Spitfire.
I agree the same color theme can be a bit confusing but for some reason Sunburst and sunset seem a bit too close to one another to not be siblings they should have more than just the same color palette
yeah I agree I’m hoping they’ll do that they’ll notice Sunburst and Sunset and have them be related or something I wouldn’t even mind if they weren’t brother and sister even if they were cousins I’d be happy about that as long as they were related
It’s just irritating to me because I never even thought of them as being related until someone pointed it out, and I was already in love with the ship. I still don’t see them being related, seeing as Braeburn and Spitfire share colors, as do Smolder and Scootaloo.
even though it contradicts what I just said I also love the idea of them being siblings, I love it even more than Shimmerburst tbh I just want Sunburst to at least mention Sunset Shimmer as his sister even if its just a quick mention that only exists in the episode as both a nod to the EG fans and another tie in between the show and EG, it might not happen but a man can dream can’t he.
