Yeah even irl Yaks and similar animals have a certain kind of musk to them. I’ve been around them before, it’s a weirdly specific scent. Not completely toxic to the tolerant nose, but still probably not the greatest smell to be around all day. I guess a lot of livestock are like that actually but yaks are musky as hell.
It’s kind of like a wet dog but stronger. And they always smell like that.

Also, as revealed in Non-Compete Clause, yaks apparently have a… Potent odor about them. That could also be it.
