Drinking is 21 because teenagers tend to be foolish when it comes to alcohol consumption. Most drunk driving accidents are the result of drunk teens getting behind the wheel. Raising the age reduced the accident rate.

18 is the legal “consent” age, but you have to be 21 to drink alcohol. This is for most USA states, I believe.

Well, many of the teenagers I met have more common seance than average adult! Taking away the person’s right to decide for him/herself is ALWAYS a bad thing!

Even with consent most teenagers are still quite young, naive, and still like kids mentally. (Plus puberty makes them a li’l crazy.) So they don’t always make the best choices, or know what they’re doing. Having sex, or getting pregnant, (or somebody else pregnant) when you’re not ready to, or still young can still be a bad thing.

It depends actually… Some males have been quite messed up over being sexually-raped. (Especially, at a young age.) This guy in the link said he even had the same issues that women who’ve been raped have had. (Including being turned off of sex, and instead turning to porn. Something female rape-victims do, as well.)
