Equestrian universities don't cover Fluid Dynamics in undergrad? Geez I want to go there, had to do Fluid in my first year of undergrad, not as painful as Mechanics and Materials though

I think alittleofsomething needs to use slightly less saturated colors in their coloring. it's just a little too sharp on the eyes to look quite perfect.

Although actually Jet specifies the square root of the molecular mass in amu, which is going to be all sorts of nasty in terms of unit. I suspect it's at best some kind of empirical relationship, although even then the units should probably turn out simpler…

@Gulguldaan
Yes. In this case, the hydrocarbon's molecular "weight" would be in kg, and the chamber pressure in Pa (kg/(m*s^2)). If you divide weight by pressure, you get a resultant unit of m*s^2, which is essentially useless in this context. Coefficients are, by definition, unitless, so Jet is talking complete bullshit.

I don't know what college you went to, but in mine, there were proctors are every corner. You probably couldn't even cough without one accusing you of cheating.

@Meanlucario

Well they talked less in the original, so it was more plausible they wouldn't be noticed.

Speaking of, am I the only one that prefers the original style?

What kind of school were you going to that expected freshmen to know how to solve PDEs!? How the heck are you even supposed to learn that before you enroll? Get a math degree first? I don't think you could even have started our math department's PDE courses before late sophomore year, and then only if you really focused on it…

@T6J2E5
I mean, that's just common sense, not "glorified babysitting". No proctor, cheating is going to happen, period.

(Let me tell you what, in my graduate program…)

But yeah. If Delta and Jet are going to undergrad for astrophysics/mechanics/dynamics, then they should absolutely have fluid dynamics under their belts pronto. The astronauts riding atop their barely-controlled directional death sticks will thank them. XD

Supposing there's an alternative, not revealed here, that works around those dynamics?

So what, they're letting students do the exam without anyone watching them, or is the teacher blind and deaf?

Uni isn't high school. The students are assumed to be mature enough to not cheat. That said, proctors were frequently called in due to allegations of rampant cheating. I guess that's the price we pay for letting (even encouraging) everyone and their brother to attend university.

Totally different curriculum, then. I majored in physics, too, and I had to take fluid dynamics (yes, using PDEs) second semester freshman year. You couldn't even get into the programme without a heavy background in multivariate calculus. Ironically, I'm not even using my physics degree anymore. XD Better money elsewhere.

@AWGear

Because this has no flirtiness from her whatsoever.

@laofuzi

See? This is what I'm talking about.
