Actually, considering that gems come out of the ground cut and polished, I’d imagine the prices wouldn’t be that high.
Yeah, I came in here to say this too! The background art here is absolutely beautiful. <3
Oh, rustic type of guy, eh??!! Those ladies feeling too CLASSY for you?! Fine, we’ll see if there’s anything interesting near that demolition site…
Or why Rarity wouldn’t offer. Especially since there was a point where she was listing off the materials needed and the techniques involved in making it.
IDK, I just found it so distracting.
Understandable. They could have just put a line in to explain why Pinkie wouldn’t ask Rarity.
Real super high end jewelry stores actually don’t show the price of things on display and hide them under the product. So many of them actually work on “if you have to ask you probably can’t afford it” Samuel Jackson bought a silver monkey safe out of a store with that policy. Some royalty store in England.
£80,000
It’d still be Pinkie giving the gift, though.
That was seriously my only problem with this episode. The main conflict was Pinkie not being about to get her hooves on a special, custom-made textile good, and she’s traveling around with the one character in the entire show whose literal job is to make custom-made textile goods.
Then it wouldn’t have been a gift from Pinkie; it’d be from Rarity.
The gems are probably worth less than the expertly made clothing.
fandom loves to compare the worth of stuff.
like rarity digs up and can find thousands of gems and crystals with ease so they are common as dirt and she makes clothes for nudists so that can not be a huge market for either of those things but has never been shown as poor, she always has money.
meanwhile the local farmers who make the god damn food people eat are always scraping the bottom of the money pile.
if they had shown that 1 fancy diamond was worth say 600 bits then you compare that to other things like the price of food and people could update their whole giant list of equestrian economy.
What do you mean?
livin’ in a high society, high society world.
if we actually knew how much a high class diamond was worth in bits the fandom would have a field day.
