Applejack as Mulan. Rainbow Dash as Merida. AJ who is uncouth but wants to please her family. Rainbow Dash who is a free spirit who wants have freedom and at first doesn’t care about pleasing her family.

Also AJ and Mulan are in my opinion both tomboys with feminine traits like sentimentality especially torwards family and gentleness, and RD and Merida are more full on tomboys.
