Turns out I enjoyed the episode and it was rather well handled.
I’m still gonna wait for the finale, which I’m dreading because really poor taggers showed that there is a timeskip epilogue of some sort to show what “became” of our characters. I’m sure Spike will get thrown with smolder or something incredibly retarded, you know, someone which he has no friendship and no connections to.

Spoiler for the final episode view at your own risk!: Spike and Rarity aren’t together and Spike seems to be over his crush on her. She’s also way to old for him now she has some gray in her mane.
When it airs officially, I’ll be happy to deconstruct the episode.

None of the original writers work on the show anymore, the only person still there from 2010 is Meghan and she doesn’t exclusively work on Mlp anymore.
Umm.. If you remember, Hasbro was the one who shipped them in the first place, in episode one, so your argument is completely invalid.
If that is true, then today Spike would be at least 18-25
23-25 sounds more about Spike’s current age judging by his character, but even if you go by the youngest side of this age window, he would still be at minimum 18 years old now. And of course, judging on his character, it is still VERY unlikely that he is that young.

Big Jim posted it in his Twitter account somewhere around 2016, but the actual tweet said he was between 16-22 years; that was the age cap that writers used for Spike

And again, he’s a major political figure in Equestria, not a job for a kid. A royal adviser, an ambassador involved in diplomatic affairs between multiple nations, and even has a job at the Friendship school! He’s probably more of an adult than you.
