Description

After Blueblood was ruled out as a boyfriend for Rarity, none of the girls paid any second thought to him. That was, until he showed up at Sweet Apple Acres with a note from Queen Celestia.

Blueblood had grown detatched from his subjects, that much was clear. He was vain, and posh, and uncaring. This posed as a huge problem for Celestia, who was known as a lovely ruler. Blueblood was a blemish on the royal family, and Celestia thought she might change that. After contact with Fluttershy (she’s the element of kindness after all, she’d be the best candidate for helping him), Celestia came to the conclusion that Applejack would be the best pony to help. Fluttershy was far too busy with her pregnancy with her firstborn, and it wouldn’t be fair to her. Really, the only pony who would be able to help Blueblood would be Applejack with her honest and no-nonsense attitude. Unfortuntely, Fluttershy neglected to inform Applejack and she was surprised by his appearance on her doorstep.

Of course, he was used to having lavish meals and such, so adjusting to more country-ish food was going to be a huge struggle for him. Applejack didn’t care, and forced him to eat the plates she gave him…. oops. He really, really liked the meals. They were so good! Despite not being served on a silver platter with no proper garnish, they were absolutely mouthwatering. Even being forced to help out on the farm didn’t bother him, because as long as he got his food at the end of the day, he was content.

Eventually he took a liking to Applejack; she was headstrong and made him weak in the knees quite often. She was pretty and everything he liked and what was this feeling in his chest?? Applejack, on the other hand, only saw him as a friend for the longest time. He was nice, but he clearly hadn’t been raised to be all that helpful; he was soft and not useful a majority of the time. That was, until she was attacked by Timberwolves. She was out in the forest after releasing some creatures that were causing problems, when she was backed against a dead end. She was able to fend off the wolves until a particularly bad injury to her back. Luckly, her cries were heard by Blueblood, who came to her rescue and used his newly-found strength to send the wolves running.

Over her recovery, he confessed that he really did like her, and she decided to give him a chance. The chance went from one date to two, to three, to much more. Eventually Blueblood was called back to Canterlot, but he didn’t want to go. He really didn’t want to go. He had a nice life here on the farm. So he turned down the invitation and proposed to Applejack, who… turned him down. As a joke, though. She laughed, and accepted. They were happily married on the farm and lived there ever since. Duchesse was born only a month after the wedding.

Despite his appearance, Blueblood is actually decently older than the Mane 6 in the show; while the Mane 6 are ranging from 19-24, Blueblood is in his mid thirties.

Granny Smith actually liked Blueblood since the start, and had a big part in teasing him about her. He would always go red and sputter denials, but she knew the truth.
