Description

There was a great shuffling of fabric as the now much more draconic cellist hefted herself up off of her couch, ducking only slightly to avoid the roof only a few inches above her head. A light sigh escaped her muzzle as she waddled herself over to her instrument of choice, gingerly lifting it from its stand once again and taking the bow in her other hand for a moment. Careful not to grasp either too tightly, she shunted her thick, cushy tail around, feeling it pressing against the wall behind her as the six pipes sticking from her back all spread upwards, pulling the ropes restraining them taut.

Resting her cello against the floor once more, an uneasy whine came from her muzzle, as she saw just how far out her newfound plaid belly was swollen. She’d made do with about the same relative distance previously, so that wasn’t so much of a trouble, but in that case she was of a more comparable size to the large stringed instrument. Not nearly close to being a head or so taller than it… a small huff left her nostrils. She was gonna make this work, she was gonna practice, dangit. She just needed to be careful about squishing her belly forwards too much.

Resting the bow across the strings and adjusting her newly-formed fingers, she tried to remember the song she was playing just minutes ago. It was certainly something of a challenge to find the right notes now, being so accustomed to using her hooves instead, but at least the rhythm seemed to be easy to achieve. A few minutes more and she was starting to fall right back into her groove, as if she wasn’t the slightest bit large, puffy, and plaid now. That grin eased back onto her muzzle as she finally started to find those right notes again, the mournful but pleasant tune filling the air once more. There we go, now you’ve got it again, Tavi…

As she was beginning to reach the crescendo of the piece, though, a sudden, distinct, and incredibly loud sound broke through the air in the room, making her separate her cello and bow quite quickly. She looked about the room for where the source of the noise could’ve come from, nothing obvious catching her eye, and no second noise following it up. Pausing for just a few moments more, she let off another slight huff, readjusting herself and resting her bow across the strings again. Whatever that sound was, it’s probably safe enough to ignore it, and besides that she’s gotten her groove back anyhow. Won’t let another distraction interrupt her practice. Now, where was she…

Restarting from a few notes earlier, she was quick to find her place once again, steadily approaching the crescendo of the piece. And, just as before, the loud sound arose again. She tried to power on through, but it didn’t seem to be stopping, and if anything… she opened her eyes, cutting the song short, the vibrations of her cello echoing through her airfilled body - along with those other notes, droning out of her back. Surely that couldn’t be, she was just… hm…

Leaning back, she heard another tuneless noise come from her back pipes, looking over towards both sets of three. Her gaze moved back to her cello, and she finally decided to return it to its stand once more, thoughts going through her head. Well, no sense practicing until she’s back to her old pony self, anyways… even if she still seemed to be doing well like this. And the noise that interrupted her earlier, it almost sounded like it was trying to match the song as she played…

A soft sigh escaped her as she let her large rear flop onto the couch, reaching forwards and turning on the TV in front of her. Resting her hands on her large, cushy belly, she paused for thought for a moment, before squeezing down against the fabric. That same noise echoed through the house as she felt the air being squeezed through her pipes, momentarily drowning out the noise of the TV set. She can maybe make music with herself like this… and still play her cello.

Perhaps she could keep this in mind for later…
