@Tirek
I don’t think this is “better”, I’d say it’s a weeb version of the Friends Forever microseries but with a little bit more random stories.
But yeah, I loved the artstyle more on the manga than the comics.
@TheSultanAkbar
Actually, it isn’t a myth. Season 3 had 13 episodes. In other words, after season 3, FiM had 65 episodes and that is, from how understood it, a magical number to end cartoons in the western world
@TheSultanAkbar
yep, but if you look at the show (especially starting from season 3) you can see that it got darker with every season.
Season 1 and 2 were more or less finished before the MLP team even took notice of the fandom. I think they noticed us during the second half of season 1 and from what I remember, Faust and Co. had already finished most season 2’s story
Season 3 was meant to end G4, but with the fandom and the money Hasbro earned with it, they made more seasons. Especially with stories for an older audience, without ignoring what mlp was meant to be. That’s why we still have more child-friendly episodes than darker ones
@TheSultanAkbar
Yep
I think, if the fandom wouldn’t be mostly grown up men, then the writers wouldn’t have turned FiM into a darker, action filled show.
To me, season 8 will become my real ending to the show. There is just too much I dislike about season 9
@TheSultanAkbar
I think half of the fandom love that mlp turned into an anime while the other half dislikes that. To me, battles like Nightmare Moon or Tirek (at most) was fitting, but making mlp too dark (like a slave army, or similar stuff) was too much. At least for me and those, who prefered the older seasons.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the newer seasons (except 9), too, but the openers/endings are sometimes too dark. If I want epic battles, I can always watch One Piece or Naruto (when the story isn’t interupted by fillers)
Yep, it’s way better than the IDW comics;-)
It has some dead memes (like to the moon) but the drawings are cute and the stories are real mlp, not the action trash we got from IDW
Remember this fandom is full of weebs, you shouldn’t be surprised how overrated is it.

Edited
I read about that. But I doubt it was really because of that, more because of the EG movie.

Many good cartoons ended after 65 episodes but those, who were popular got renewed for more seasons, like Friendship is Magic
No, that was a mtyh, I’m pretty sure, that it was meant to end at S3. It was a rumour spread because of the short lenght.

Hmm… it had shades of it in the beginning, specially S2 opener.

You have a point, yes. I mean, the fandom pretty much wrote the series anyway! On or off the show!

…but I thought people wanted action?
