Goddamnit, all these Maguire meme videos have made me laugh now when that wasn’t the purpose of the original scene XD

I love the Sam Raimi trilogy, to me it is the best representation of Spider-Man.
The Webb films aren’t as fun and the MCU is just too goofy, but Sam Raimi is like a perfect blend.

Artist -

It says something about the staying power of the Sam Raimi trilogy over all other Spider-Man movies that we are still referencing it even to this day.

To be honest, the Sam Raimi Spíder-Man trilogy is to Marvel movies what the Christopher Reeves Superman movies are to DC movies: excellent movies that stand the test of time, with even “the bad ones” (Superman 3 and 4/Spider-Man 3) having a lot of memorable scenes.

This is why every single other Spider-Man movie (bar “Into the Spider-Verse”) has never quite reached the same level, and why the inevitable Disney-less Sony reboot has the odds stacked against it. Because it’s not the matter of wether Sony owns Spider-Man or not, but the unique combination of talented writers, talented actors and a talented director that made the original Spider-Man trilogy so great.

The only point in favor of Raimi-less Sony is that their Venom is better, and honestly, as much as the Topher Grace Venom was a misfire, at least he was a villain. The “New Sonyverse” Venom was stuck on the role of hero, and the character ended up suffering for it.
