Brightness and vibrancy are not a matter of opinion. They are objective properties of colors, and the colors of the new designs are objectively just as vibrant as the colors of the old designs. If you want me to prove it, I can use a Color Picker and show you the HSV values.

Why? It’s his opinion on the show. His preference of what it was he liked. Why is it wrong for him to have that preference? Because you don’t agree with it doesn’t make it wrong, means you got different taste, and that’s okay, you could’ve just said ‘Hey, personally I enjoy it the new way, sorry you don’t and hope you will again.’ Or something along the lines of being a little bit nicer to maybe convince him it’s not so bad. Not ‘Everything you said is wrong because I said so!’ Rather rude and won’t convince anyone.

Maybe he likes the brighter colors of the original? He never said that it was a fact they were bad, just in his opinion he thought they were dull.

As for opinions, opinions are not immune to being challenged. If I don’t like someone’s opinion, I have every right to challenge it. the show has lost its charm that it had in s1 and 2. it’s just how it goes.
 
i personally stopped watching around season 7. i see no reason to watch forwards seeing as the new designs’ colors are always dull, too detailed, don’t fit in with the world at all
 
the mane 6 stick out like a sore thumb in this “more modern and tomboyish” world they formed for mlp

No one’s saying it is but you. You’re kind of projecting. I just prefer the older seasons, if you somehow reversed the order from newest to oldest I’m certain I’d prefer season 1 and 2 even if it came last. Stop automatically assuming that it’s just nostalgia, as I said before, it’s myopic.

In the context of this picture it does imply that no character development is better and it should just never have changed. I understand that might not be your intention and it could be my fault for pulling two different viewpoints together but the post was equally a responds to the image as it was to you.
 
As for the execution, season 8 is my favorite season so of course I am going to disagree on that, but that is subjective so I let you have your view without fighting it.

Uh, no it wasn’t? The first episode actually went on about how Twilight can’t just learn friendship from a book - she had to be socially active and learn through experience.
 
Twilight’s school, in fact, teaches the life lessons they learned the hard way in a smarter, safer environment that openly encourages and pushes social activity creating bonds of friendship. Learning life lessons without having to go, let’s say, Mare-Do-Well on their friend or nearly passing out from exhaustion during Apple Buck season.
 
Also, I think it’s hilarious that you think Twilight wasn’t in a form of “friendship” tutoring considering she had to write friendship reports about what they learned for the first three seasons. The only difference is that Twilight has the life lessons necessary to teach through example rather than running through it blind like she did.

That’s a false opposition, obviously. The alternative to friendship school isn’t “no character development”. But okay, you make a reasonable case for why it’s not a bad idea in principle. Shame it’s been wretchedly executed.

This and i maintain that basically “transmitting/sharing knowledge and experience” is not inherently Ooc for Twilight (though i’ll concede its ironic and somehow funny she choose to found a litteral school to do so)

If you don’t actually watch the show and make baseless accusations, yea sure.  
Season 8 Ep 1 and 2 are all about how the normal school system is unfit for the task and Twilight creates a new system that is much more hands on. When she was young there was no school to teach friendship, but she went out and learned from the world, now has come full circle and has build up a system that can adequately inform students. A large emphasis is placed on collaboration and not brute force number crunching.
 
 
So, I respectfully disagree, its very much in her character, and forcing her to be stuck in an endless loop of the same day over and over with no character progression is something you can get from any other show.

Given that one of the main points informing her character originally was that friendship can’t be learned in school, it has to be learned ‘in the field’… yes, it actually is quite out of character.
