it was in design hell for a few months going through thousands of alterations before having a mostly sealed look in June 2011.
 
That’s not to say FoE or blackjack in particular for this argument hasn’t had a few hundred design changes over the months too since it was for a bigger project that went on to become one of the biggest and most popular pony fanfics and had many other characters to worry about and deal with. For all we know both could’ve been finished around the same time.
 
that aside funny how a not blackjack tag exists, feel like there should be more than just 14 but tagging small stuff like this not too important.

I can’t comment as to when Zaj’s official first Lilith drawing was, but the earliest I could find on a quick FA timestamp was here Feb 27, 2012 [or the 14th for the earliest drawing uploaded to FA ] (which I heavily doubt is the first drawing of her or even the same date when it was drawn) vs October 3, 2011 for the PH cover.  
As for the furry oc she’s based off of that zaj also made (a squirrel that has the latex accessories and has the black line); there’s at least one image that dates back to Aug 9, 2010 (check e621, explicit), and a ponified version of that same furry oc that dates Feb 18, 2011 (FA scraps).  
In the end, this most likely is a case of a coincidental design similarity. Like when I found out about Stocking before Twilight, though they both came out within a short amount of time between each other.

I just assumed the futa comment was directed towards Lilith, since it’s definitely something she’s quite known for. You wouldn’t have been the first to say it’s her defining trait, lol. Also the bow was totally hard coded into her design over time. You’ll almost never see her without it nowadays.
 
Either way, I couldn’t pinpoint the exact month I made her cause boy that was a long time ago, but I first designed her near the end of the school year in 2011. She was also based partly on a previous character I had already made during the dark times where I was in the furry fandom before pony even started. So definitely early on in the year. I’ve been around for awhile, yo.
 
I wouldn’t say you pissed me off though (but I appreciate the apology anyway, lol). I’m hard to make mad. Something inside me just told me I should try and explain myself, since I knew for a fact that any similarities to Blackjack were never intentional or even possible for me to have done on purpose. I never even read FoE and everything I know about it I’ve pieced together from random pictures over time. In fact, for a good while back in the day, I just thought Blackjack was a rather plain edgy Dash recolor and didn’t think much of her. Of course I understand what makes her unique now.
 
Anyway, sorry for slamming you with a wall of text out of the blue. And thanks for being all civil about it n stuff.

I don’t even think the Futa comment was about your character, half the images with your character have her with or without one so I thought her main differences we were supposed to see are the earings, the two to one ratio of red hair to black hair your character has compared to Blackjacks more one to one ratio of red to black hair, and the cutie mark (which I don’t really count personally in differences). I also don’t count the bow cause that’s like the dick it’s not always there.
 
Looking closer I do now realize what I thought were suppose to be flecks of blood that are often times there, sometimes hard to see or not there depending on the artist are supposed to be red freckles so I can add that to the differences.
 
As to you creating her before Fallout Equestria existed I’ll have to take you completely at your word considering her first depiction on this site is from 8 years ago (according to Derpi) and Project Horizon first appeared on Equestria Daily 9 years ago in August 2011(according to EQG) four months after the original Fallout Equestria got onto Equestria Daily I don’t know when the first chapters of either were even made public before that cause I don’t know how to use the Google Docs they started out on.
 
I will actually give your word more weight than those numbers imply too cause Ponibooru might have had earlier numbers and I highly doubt the first artwork posted on either site was your first creation of the character. For context MLP:FiM started in 10/2010, Your claim would mean you created the character within the first six (FoE) to ten(FoE:PH) months of FiM.
 
All that considered Sorry that I pissed you off, regardless of which came first or second the closeness of their creation was enough margin of error that I should have chalked it up to a fluke of nature rather than accuse you of anything. I saw several different OC’s all with the same or similar coat color, mane and tail color, or other features (like other characters mechanical legs or your character’s leggings) that looked like alterations of Blackjack well after she became popular and I lumped yours in with theirs as a trend when yours came out close enough to be a statistical error in that trend.

First of all, I created Lilith before Fallout Equestria even existed, so to say she copies Blackjack is just plain silly.
 
Secondly, there’s a hell of a lot more defining characteristics that distinguish the two than what’s between their legs. To say that that’s the only defining feature is flat out ignorance, not to mention there are tons of pictures where Lilith is a regular ol’ mare. You don’t have to like Lilith, but if you looked at her for more than a few seconds instead of writing her off immediately for having similar colors, the differences would be glaring.
 
The similarities to Blackjack in this picture can be chalked up to alumx’s style. It’s a much more loose interpretation of what Lilith usually looks like. I can’t speak for any of the other characters you mentioned, but I know my own very well.

It’s not even the only one. There’s like 5 different OC’s (the irony lost on them) that all have Blackjack’s same look. One with earrings, one with painted on red/pink zebra stripes, another whose only defining feature to separate them as an “original character” from Blackjack is that the so called “original character” is a futa.
