Shaggy’s not actually stupid. He’s just lazy and has no interest in solving mysteries. He may not be a genius but he is at least of normal intelligence. There have been quite a few occasions where he has noticed a clue the rest of the gang has overlooked or figured out how to turn the guy in the monster suit’s own gimmick against him. Just watch the episode Bedlam in the Big Top to see what I mean.
