Description

Development art for an upcoming commission. There are many things from the Fallout Equestria universe that I like. One thing I really don’t like is how firearms were handled, or not handled. I really, really don’t like the concept of holding weapons in one’s mouth. Either firearms or melee.
One the weapons that Little Pip acquires early on is a scoped, double-action, magnum revolver called Little Macintosh. Both me and the client do not like the mouth trigger and grip. So the client wanted me to redesign it. So I have.

When a being's limbs end in a single, inflexible digit it makes performing one hand/limb tasks trickier. One advantage of pistols and revolvers is that in theory they can be used with the one hand. Held, aimed, and fired all with one hand. However scoped, magnum handguns are rarely fired one-handed anyways. They're usually fired with both hands and often from a rested position. So I wasn't very concerned with the fact that this design doesn't permit one-handed operation.
Edit. I realized looking at my reference photos that the Chiappa cylinder is hexagonal instead of octagonal in design

The Chiappa Rhino & Mateba Unica use an internal striker, similar to semi-auto handguns. They are semi-automatic revolvers.

They do have a “cocking lever” that puts the Rhino into single-action mode, basically giving you a hair-trigger for the first shot, so I’d just assume that’s what the “hammer” in this picture is.

Clever, though I wonder why a cylinder with six chambers is octagonal and not hexagonal.
