Page 861 - Dash Smash

I just noticed that the stallions in this scene are not only larger, but their wings are very oddly proportioned, and their mouths have this strange, curved, beak-like shape to them when they talk. Some other stallions in the show have that kind of trapezoidal muzzle shape, but not quite the same curve to their lips as they talk as these guys here.

I’m not saying the artists went for some sort of subtle vulture/birds-of-prey visual allegory in this scene, but… No, wait, that’s exactly what I’m saying.

Hoops: Rainbow DASH, more like… Rainbow… ‘STACHE! A-HUH-HUH-HUH-HUH!
Rainbow Dash: Quick question: Are they wearing any kind of armor?
DM: Uh… They’re wearing hard-hats and coats because they work at the weather factory?
Rainbow Dash: Good. ‘Cuz commoners or not, I’m about five seconds away from rolling Initiative.
Dumb-Bell: Whaddaya gonna do, pick a fight? Get arrested before the Competition? What’ll THAT do to your hopes and dreams?
Rainbow Dash: Yeah… You’re right. That wouldn’t be a good idea. But maybe the next stupid word out of your mouth will make me fly into a Barbarian Rage. You really wanna roll those dice?
DM: They… pause… and then fly off, grinning to pretend they’ved maintained their dignity.
Fluttershy: I want you to know… I would have helped.
Rainbow Dash: Man, I super appreciate that! Thanks.
